About us
Our society was founded in 1980 and named as “Optical Engineering Society of the Republic of China (ROCOES)” in order to promote the basic and application research of optics. Our major activities include academic conference, technical training, and collection and publication of optical information. And now there are more than 1,000 members in our society. We also have one journal entitled“Optical Engineering”and published quarterly.
“Optical Engineering” is a quarterly publication for members to get the latest information about optics. Its content includes worldwide new inventions, technical reports and conferences information. Recently, the industrial market information was also provided in each issue.
In order to extend our service to the people in the fields of optics and photonics and outreach the international societies, the ROCOES has been changed to Taiwan Photonics Society (TPS) since December 2009.
TPS has been the host of Optics & Photonics Taiwan International Conference (OPTIC) which serves as the largest international forum on optics and photonics in Taiwan since 2012. OPTIC aims to gather authentic scientists, scholars, or engineers of all nationalities by providing participants an excellent opportunity to exchange ideas and present the latest research on optics and photonics in both scientific and technological viewpoints.
